The new design for a tiny bathroom in the original front section of an otherwise modernised Cremorne Federation house was to take advantage of modern design elements, yet retain a sense of association with its surrounding rooms.
The small bath was replaced with an open-ended shower area, and the water damaged timber window was replaced by a water tolerant louvered window. A low dwarf wall running the length of the room conceals the cistern, cantilevers a basin cabinet and provides a shower storage niche.
The use of traditional white hexagonal mosaics floor and wall is dramatised by the use of black grout and black granite bench and window & niche surrounds.
A traditional mirror over classic basin and tapware confirm the design approach.
