The opportunity of opening up this bathroom to a private foliaged cliff face proved impossible to resist. Replacing the existing chunky windows with a large ‘frameless’ fixed glass panel, and placing a stone freestanding bath under it, not only achieves this highly desirable architectural feature, but also provides the opportunity for a truly wonderful bathing experience.
The cliff face can be spot lit at night, offering further drama to the ambience when wanted.
Insect-proofed ventilation is achieved with a smaller screened louvered window on the same wall. This feature wall is also finished with stone-like tiles the same as the floor, with deep reveals to accentuate wall thickness. The other walls are finished with off-white ‘textured render’ tiles.
Veneered suspended drawers and recessed wall cabinetry with mirrors provide generous storage and convey the sense of quality and warmth, whilst experiencing a spacious open shower is achieved with a single large glass panel.
